A mini van?

Today was Dave's day off, so we thought it would be fun to test drive a mini van!  Go ahead and laugh but I will admit, it was actually pretty cool.  I have always been sooooo anti-mini van because they are so MOMish.  I know I'm a mom, but I'm only 25 years old.  I just picture myself pulling up to hang out with all my single friends with my 2 kids and my mini van!  But then Dave says yeah, but then you can all ride in one car.  (good point)  And I can't believe I'm saying this, but after driving one today, I kind of almost want one.  My favorite, favorite part was the automatic doors.  You just push a button, and the sliding doors open and close!  So does the trunk!  I couldn't get over it...we just kept pushing the buttons over and over.  And then of course, they put us in one that is like top of the line, so it had everything...including a back-up camera which was also way cool.  But man, it had so much space...so much glorious space!  With lots of little secret compartments, which is another one of my favorite features.  But, I'll stick with my Altima for now because seriously...a mini van?

Mini van's are a funny step to take - but I love them as well. Lorin's sister has one - of course - with all her kids & there is so much room & lots of safety features, they are pretty great. I guess we haven't talked about ever getting one, but I wouldn't be against it one of these days!

See my latest post to see how we feel about mini vans. I swore I would never own one either...but they are just SO practical!! What mom wouldn't want one. I mean what mom with multiple kids...I still didn't want one with just Dax around.

I used to drive a 1987 Suburban with 9 seat belts. I did daycare and hauled my 6 kids around all day. We would run errands or go to play lands. Ugh, I miss that beast! Now that we have moved I need something smaller and am coveting a minivan in a bad way. Too bad my Jeep won't just die already! :)

We have just read through your blog clear back to Christmas, and I am so impressed. Kristen, you really do a great job. Such great memories you are recording! My favorite mini van story is of a guy I knew who remained single until he was about 45. He had a fancy BMW, but when he got married they had two babies very close together, and the next thing I knew, he had turned in the BMW for a mini van. I still have a hard time picturing him in a mini van, but practicality won out.
